I have no doubt of your last point in particular, but would still be surprised if that ever adds up to an actual Labour endorsement. His representative on earth (ie Janan Ganesh) remains highly sniffy about Starmer and his party, which may or may not be an indicator here. Although there's also Mark Carney's endorsement for Labour. One wonders which other former Conservative MPs will endorse Labour at the GE? "Conservatives for Labour" may be a bit like Reagan Democrats at this election. Mark Carney is however a Canadian Liberal, so, not a Conservative in any case.

Conservatives are the largest party but this is one of those councils they used to completely dominate, often winning every ward. Final tally is C 13, Lab 10, L Dem 7, GP 4, Ref UK 2. Barton & Tredworth is predictably a mess: it splits 1 Con (Sajid Patel), 1 Lab and 1 LD (Usman Bhaimia). So overall: Lib Dem - 17 Conservative - 11 Labour - 7 Independent - 4 The Lib Dems just a handful of votes in a few wards from overall control: pretty impressive effort. democracy.gloucester.gov.uk/mgElectionResults.aspx?ID=32&RPID=47343648LD +7, Con -15, Lab +4, Ind +4 %, according to the council: LD 33%, Con 29%, Lab 24%, Ind 9%, Grn 4% Liberal Democrat gain over Conservative in: Barton and Tredworth (2 Con, 1 Lab -> 2 Con, 1 LD (through defection) -> 11 Con, 1 LD, 1 Lab; Con 846, LD 763, Lab 753, Con 628/544, Grn 383, LD 341/328, SLP 296, Grn 281, Ind 213/201/172, SLP 164) 2x Longlevens (2 Con, 1 LD -> 2 LD, 1 Con (through by-election) -> 3 LD; by 163/612 votes) Quedgeley Severn Vale (2 Con -> 1 LD, 1 Con; LD 562, Con 417, LD 381, Con 390, Lab 296/282) Tuffley (2 Con -> 1 LD, 1 Con; LD 562, Con 512, LD 477, Con 406, Lab 328/325) 2x Westgate (3 Con -> 2 Con, 1 LD (through by-election) -> 2 LD, 1 Con; LD 809, Con 649, LD 623, Con 515, LD 492, Lab 483, Con 478, Lab 448/388) Labour gain over Conservative in: Coney Hill (by 62 votes over Ind, by 169 votes over Con) 2x Kingsway (by 246/297 votes) Moreland (2 Lab, 1 Con -> 3 Lab; by 296 votes) Independent gain over Conservative in: Grange ( Con 552, Ind 458, Lab 455, Con 445, Lab 442) 3x Matson, Robinswood and White City (3 Con -> 2 Ind, 1 Con (through defection -> 3 Ind; by 49/129/148 votes over Lab; by 477/553/633 votes over Con) Close wards: Abbeydale (Lab 154 votes away from a Con seat) Abbeymead (LD 35 votes away from a seat) Podsmead (LD hold by 126 votes over Lab) Quedgeley Fieldcourt (Lab 108 votes away from a Con seat, LD 197 votes away)[/b][/b]

Still no results released officially. Perhaps they are waiting until all are in then will publish them all at once. They didn't do that last year. I find it irritating. Edit. I take that back. They have started to appear mygov.elmbridge.gov.uk/mgElectionResults.aspx?ID=51&RPID=529508490Cobham is a C hold compared to LD gains of the other two in the ward. That’s an appalling situation for some people. I think it was pretty appalling that Crawley council didn't put up any details until this morning, and everyone - including a candidate I know who couldn't b at the count - was dependent on a single party member at the count to give us even that information! I can tell you that Labour gained Gossops Green; Ifield; Maidenbower; Pound Hill North; Tilgate. Figures are here: democracy.crawley.gov.uk/mgElectionElectionAreaResults.aspx?EID=26&RPID=29131272Third: Lab 10 (+5), Con 2 (-5) Council: Lab 25 (+5), Con 11 (-5) In %, according to the council: Lab 47%, Con 35%, Grn 11% Labour gain from Conservative in: Gossops Green and NE Broadfield (by 357 votes) Ifield (by 358 votes) Pound Hill N and Forge Wood (by 222 votes) Southgate (by 178 votes) Tilgate (by 182 votes)
