Oh Lord, Bayrou and the attention-seeker Hulot. The rest are alright.
Le Maire will "do a Macron" on Macron when it all goes wrong, I'm certain of that.

Just next to the Italian straw hat. You'll getting your Trilby then...? I think Black Eyed Susan has it at the moment.

An old face reappears. Jean-Pierre Raffarin turned up at a summit as Macron's proxy this weekend, and it's rumoured he will be the next Foreign Minister. In French politics old faces never go away. As de Gaulle said on seeing Mitterrand pop up at the Liberation - "Oh no, not YOU again!" Yes, deGaulle had a special relationship to Mitterand. When for example deGaulle's AutoBiography was distributed among the whole PoliticalClass, Mitterand was the only one being "forgotten"...

I read, that Attali has been the decisive ProMotor of Macron. Has anyone read some/one of his books? Is it true e.g., that Attali expected in "Amours" a separation of (private) copulation and (public) breeding?

Someone here said "there will be no second term". I forget whom. It's looking ever-more correct.

Probably the Establishment again. Le Pen and Melenchon are too repellent to another part of society. I suspect a scandal-free, Macron-free Gaullist. I would like this to be Nathalie K-M. But Laurent Wauquiez is an interesting possibility. Christian Jacob and Valerie Pecresse too.

What about Lagarde? Her predecessor as IMF MD is probably a tad too tainted (and old).
The reaction of the villagers in Le Petit Bouchon reminds me of those people who deny voting for Maggie or the people in my own home village who deny voting Labour in 1997. I'm visiting Juvigny-le-Tetre next month and no doubt they'll tell me they always knew Macron was a lightweight. I expect this is repeated across France.
