What happens if Laurence Leonard wins? If I lived there I might vote for him, just because. From my understanding of the Rule 61 of the Parliamentary Elections Rules (Schedule 1) of the Representation of the People Act 1983, the election has a result than no member is returned, and another election is called on the first working day seven days after the election. The new election must be between the 15th and the 19th after that. No new candidate can appear. But, it seems silly with STV and I don't if those rules apply to Scottish local elections. EDIT: Nevermind, they are devolved and run according to The Scottish Local Government Elections Order 2011.

Rule is the same in Scotland (Rule 63), except than the election is 21 to 28 working day after the new notice of election, with an exception if that ends during Christmas time (it doesn't).
So, it would be rerun either on January 8th or 15th, If I understand well.

I tried, unsuccessfully, to get the Local Government Boundary Commission to abandon compass point names in Clydesdale where more suitable ones could have been found. I will certainly be trying to do that again in respect of Midlothian, Inverclyde and Clackmannanshire, as well as Clydesdale as we go through this review. You have my support, of course. At the very least I'd hope they would actually use the right compass points for Clydesdale than the nonsensical ones they have at the moment.

Relentless, Kris, Relentless. Yeah, but I don't have any of that here. Also, I just fell asleep at my desk. Some results had better start coming in soon...
