Various informations:

Troup: Philip Mitchell (Ind) was a subject in the "worst leaflet ever" thread for a ranting leaflet about the-corrupt-planning-service, "treasonously-Police-allowed same-sex-marriage", Governmental-criminality, non-sensical legal language and a love-of-hyphens. There was a by-election in 2008: SNP 1721, Con 515, LD 503 (won by first count)

Bridlington: The Independent Liam Dealtry was a candidate for Labour in 2011 and is a town councillor. The Conservative John Copsey is the deputy Mayor of Bridlington. The Independent Terry Dixon was the Mayor for 2013-2014. The UKIP candidate is another town councillor.

Howdenshire: There was a by-election in 2013: Con 1573, UKIP 1260, Lab 563, LD 212. Danny Marten (Labour) was the Labour candidate in Haltemprice and Howden in 2010.

Willerby and Kirk Ella:  The was a by-election 2010, involving Conservative messing up nomination papers: LD 5107, Lab 1298 (held on the general election day).

Charville: The resignation is due to ill health. Cliff Dixon (UKIP) is the PCC for Hayes and Harlington and Hillingdon UKIP chair. Mary O'Connor is a former Mayor of Hillingdon and councillor for Charville 2006-2014. John Oswell (Labour) was councillor for Pinkwell until 2010 and he lost in Yiewsley in 2014.

Asfordby:  One of the Labour elected in 2003 defected to Conservatives.

Midlothian East: The Liberal Democrat elected in 2007 defected to Labour. Euan Davidson (LD) is the President of Liberal Youth Scotland. The independent Robert Hogg is the secretary of the Mayfield and Easthouses Community council. Kenny Young (Labour) was the press officer of Ed Milibrand. Bill Kerr-Smith (Green) is a member of the Eskbank and Newbattle Comminity Council. The division has an awkward shape.

Orkney: The resignation (Moodie) is due to a lack of motivation and enthusiasm. Laurence Leonard ran in 2012 and made news a few years ago for threathing to kill two police officers with an inexistant nail-gun (link). He is also a community councillor for Kirkwall and St. Ola. I understand why boogie has comptempt for Independents. With the Troup on, they seem terrible in Northern Scotland. Gillian Skuse is the chairwoman of Orkney Health and Care and Lesley Manson is the former council director of Education.

Bridlington is a really odd place as quite a lot of local power is held by the Lords Feoffees, who are a self-perpetuating charitable trust on mediaeval lines who own most of the town centre.

There was also by-elections in 2005 in both Oxford wards.

Blackbird Leys: Lab 969, IWCA 566, Con 176, LD 172, Grn 54

On that note, the by-elections in Blackbird Leys and The Leys are caused by the same councillor resigning due to ill hearth.
The Northfield Brook is caused by a councillor resigning to run in the county by-election (The Leys). Wierd.

For Huntingtonshire, it's a death. No hard proof, but the missing councillor is Paula Jayne Longford and a Paula Jayne Longford died on September 17 in St. Neots (link). Also, there is a condolence message from another councillor.

A sad indication of how badly the Lib Dem machine has stalled in East Yorkshire , A seat where they had a councillor in 2010 (not 2012 as it says above) . Quite feasable that the remaining 3 LD's will be picked off next year. If you field candidates then no one can vote for you and there is little chance of picking possible new members. Sad very Sad
