Peter Swindon @peterswindon All #Labour sources indicating it will be a big win for Alex Rowley in #Cowdenbeath, with as much as 50% of vote.
Peter Swindon @peterswindon One Labour MSP said #Labour vote 'extremely solid' in #Cowdenbeath. A Labour MP tells me it's 'looking good' for his party.

Most of the ballot boxes won't have even made it to the count yet, how the hell would "all Labour sources" know anything at this stage?

BBC Scotland News @bbcscotlandnews Watch live coverage of the #Cowdenbeath result - our @newsnightscot special is on BBC Two from 23:00 pic.twitter.com/dTKbTaraVC
good to see Scotland do this, the BBC down here has totally ignored By elections in a way Vincent Hanna would be turning in his grave.

We had live coverage for Dunfermline too, the BBC has admittedly been getting better on Scottish election coverage lately.

Most of the ballot boxes won't have even made it to the count yet, how the hell would "all Labour sources" know anything at this stage? This is normal for by-elections, as we should all know by now

Unusual to see any party playing up its vote - not the normal way of playing the expectations game.

Since Gordon Brewer is apparently hosting the by-election special at 11pm, I'll be going to sleep at 10.59pm.

Fife Council has just tweeted that they've only just opened the first ballot box, so any predictions made up to now can be safely disregarded.

About 1:30 AM is the early prediction for a declaration time.
So count on your head hitting the pillow around 2:30.

Labour got 46.5% last time so 50%+ wouldn't really be surprising.

Well, it would take greater than a 7% national swing for Labour to actually become the largest party in Holyrood again in 2016, so Labour should be looking for around 54% or more in Cowdenbeath to consider themselves to be on the road to victory.

I wonder if Newsnicht will delight us with some Scottish byelection archive like the last two occasions.
