After having been the Agent for the Tory candidate here last time, it feels rather appropriate that this is where I’ll be standing this time. Boundary changes not particularly helpful - losing Bridge ward is a shame - but can’t do much about that.

some Churchill votes making this Conservative in 1945? (Labour did not stand against Churchill in Woodford in 1945.)

some Churchill votes making this Conservative in 1945? (Labour did not stand against Churchill in Woodford in 1945.) No on the new boundaries this seat is entirely east of the Roding. I was surprised by this result - it seems counterintuitive, but its bascially explained by the swapping of Chadwell and Seven Kings (Labour in 1945) with Cranbrook (strongly Conservative then). Of course relative to the 1945 boundaries the seat has gained most of Hainault, but there wasn't much there in 1945..

Actually thinking about it, there would be a small area in this seat which would have been part of Churchill's seat, not in Woodford itself but in the part of Hainault which was then part of Chigwell. So perhaps there should be a handful of Independent votes as well as a few more Conservatives, but again - there wasn't really anything there in 1945

I have never actually been to Hainault, so I wasn't aware it was postwar. I thought it was older like Harold Hill.

It was part of three local authorities for a time (along with Essex CC), namely Chigwell UD, Dagenham MB, and Ilford MB.

Why are police not armed, if they shot him that young lad would still be here

Why are police not armed, if they shot him that young lad would still be here And, as we see in USA, tens of young lads would be dead, killed by trigger-happy policemen.

Is Wesley in danger here? Independent candidate Leanne Mohammed is building up a good following, it's being reported.
