yes but the Labour Leadership was Equally to blame for ousting her as their candidate after the election had been called Yes, the only criticism of the Labour leadership is that they should've ousted her sooner, but she only became a problem post 6/10. Or they should've blocked her off the shortlist to begin with. The 6th of October has yet to happen this year??

The 6th of October has yet to happen this year?? 6th of October 2023 Indeed, Labour would have been spared pains and UK dodgy MPs if only Starmer had the common sense to back a cease-fire and not support starvation from the start.

"A vote for me is a vote for Palestine. A vote for IDS is a vote for Israel" - Faiza Shaheen, 2023 when in 2023? Even being generous 6 months is a disgraceful length of time to wait before suspending someone for something I assume was on Twitter? for all to see

Worth listening to Shama Tatler talking about the terrible behaviour of Faiza supporters on Matt Forde's 'Political Party' podcast.

Wait until too late to select and impose from the centre and totally rain on her parade. Brilliant piece of work. Loved it.

Given the result though, it is arguably a case of "the operation was a great success but the patient died".

Even being generous 6 months is a disgraceful length of time to wait before suspending someone for something I assume was on Twitter? for all to see if it is a reference to the “if you live in the area it’s either a choice between me with 20 years of being active on Palestine or IDS who speaks at pro-Israel rallies" tweet, it was on late May 2024. She wrote it replying to someone who tweeted she/he wouldn't vote Labour because of Starmer's stance on Gaza. When they will ever learn that you don't win by convincing random anonymous people on twitter?

I get the i pression that Faiza Shaheen is so big-headed that she actually thought she would win, not just having the pleasure of enabling the defeat of an opponent in the way that some minor parties would do. Incidentally, when we were at the count we watched a bit of the declaration on the big TV in the side-room; the subtitles were on, and her name came up as “Pfizer”

I always assume that live broadcast subtitling was done by voice recognition software. Some of the results can be hilarious.

Although the aftermath would probably make the Labour hierarchy feel vindicated I'd say the opposite, to me that further begs the question why the party took so long to investigate and suspend her candidacy Sometimes it's more fun to serve up these dishes cold.

Yes, they dragged out the suspension in order to impose Tatler but I guess they didn't calculate Faiza standing and how successful she would be.
