Macedonia's Special Prosecution (SJO) says it suspects Nikola Gruevski of illegally financed VMRO through money laundering and that he was also involved in misuse of his office as PM in relation to a highways contract. Will be interesting to see if he tries anything desperate now..

A surprisingly happy end to what looked like a potential catastrophe. The new government faces an enormous task of rebuilding hijacked and discredited public institutions, financial consolidation and getting corruption under control as well a removing the government's grip on the media and business. Some purges of VMRO affiliated officials will be necessary, which will cause protests.
The four main points on its agenda are:
- economic growth - reorganizing the justice system/getting back to the rule of law (this includes a separate court branch for cases brought forward by the Special Prosecutor) - EU and NATO membership - curtailing corruption
