Just got back from the count (I was only there for Brightlingsea verification). Don't think I'm breaching any secrecy when I say that a lot of the rumours being bandied about on this thread have no basis in reality.

Priti Patel at the count. I wonder if she's ever allowed to go anywhere without at least three Central Office minders to stop UKIP people trying to persuade her.

From the table it looked like Young will not be far behind Watling.

There's something disarming about Carswell, and you can see why Tory MPs didn't want to attack him. Currently he's in very serious conversation with the Raving Loonies. Few winning candidates would do that.
