An update on the situation with Mostyn division in Flintshire. The story so far: Complaints were made about Councillor Patrick Heesom in March 2009 took several years to investigate, but eventually in July 2013 the Standards Board disqualified Patrick Heesom for two and a half years. Heesom went to the High Court to appeal, and the disqualification was stayed for a time, but took effect in September 2013. Heesom has pursued a High Court appeal which is being heard for four days this week. He is arguing that the findings disqualifying him for bullying constitute an unlawful interference on his right to free speech under Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights. Nigel Newton , Labour councillor for St James ward on Oldham MBC has resigned . Almost certainly means a double election in the ward on May 22nd .

UKIP won 4 seats in May 2013 but are currently down to 1 having lost one seat to Kidderminster Health and another to a Conservative.

Alex Rowley has now resigned from his seat as councillor for The Lochs ward on Fife Council . Jayne Baxter , Labour councillor for Cowdenbeath ward on the same council has also announced her resignation .
Ian Dolby , Independent councillor for Sleaford Quarrington and Mareham ward on North Kesteven DC has resigned
A notice of vacancy has been issued for St George West ward on Bristol UA . It is not clear which Labour councillor has resigned . Elections were not due in this ward this May .

Apologies if this has already been posted; Matt Taylor, Labour Councillor for Town Ward on Newcastle-under-Lyme BC has resigned to concentrate on his job as Town Centre Manager. The by-election will be held with the regularly scheduled election in May.

John Morgan , Conservative ( but now Independent ) councillor for Wantage Charlton ward on Vale Of White Horse DC has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for theft of a pensioner's savings .
