result posted in 22 minutes, that's either a record or highly suspicious. Looks like it was a record in that case.

Monmouthshire, Town, numbers Con 350 Lab 184 Green 41 LD 19 There must have been some nimble fingers at this speedy count, even if it was all done in the same building. Or lots of people counting.

Randomly, as it happens, I was in this ward in Monmouth today- saw absolutely no sign of an election. Perhaps they made it all up.

Surrey Heath, Old Dean is a LD gain from Con Lib Dems doing a lot better in this by-election than in the recent by-election in Esher & Walton. An interesting divergence, for sure. Of course we had a Waverley by-election too, which was a very respectable Tory win. It's interesting, seeing this divergence between Surrey Heath and the northwestern parts of the county. It'll be very interesting to see what happens in any subsequent local by-elections and the county council elections next year. I wonder how many wards the Lib Dems will contest. Part of the 2021 Tory majority appears to come from the Lib Dems under-nominating across Surrey.

One that we never heard anything about last night was New Forest. Gets me when councils count and no news comes out

Calder ward does have a large chunk of Todmorden in it. No word on whether the counting tables are on the Lancashire or the Yorkshire side of the building. Opposite the superb micro pub called the Pub.

Talybolion, Anglesey. No mention of party labels from the tweet below which is rather unhelpful.
BARLOW, Tomos Iwan (Plaid Werdd Cymru [Green]) EVANS, David Michael (Conservative) HUGHES, Kenneth Pritchard (Independent) WILLIAMS, Dafydd Arthur (Plaid Cymru)
Independent GAIN from Plaid Cymru

Seems like a pretty good week for us after a period when it felt like we'd lost our local by-election mojo somewhat
