Someone should have thought about the acronym of Scottish Conservative and Unionist Management board.

Didn't something similar happen with Colin Clark? He wasn't able to stand in Aberdeenshire East in 2021 despite being MP for Gordon from 2017 to 2019? Holyrood not Westminster, though? I suppose that might make a difference.

From my reading of that I think he's saying he's definitely resigning as leader, but will remain an MSP if not elected MP.

Does it matter what he's saying as he clearly can't be trusted to stick to it anyway?

Nice symmetry from going from irrelevant nobody MSP, to irrelevant nobody MP, to suddenly Scots Tories golden boy, and now back to irrelevant nobody MP/MSP (results pending).

Does it matter what he's saying as he clearly can't be trusted to stick to it anyway? Maybe, but he only resigned because there was going to be a coup if he didn't. It would be remarkable, even for Dougie, if he tried to cling on and face down the party. After all, he knows that he will not be forgiven for what he did to David Duguid.

Labour disowned a candidate for Moray previously in I think 2010

Difficult to say who that may benefit of the top two, probably both to an extent

Starmer has largely cleansed Labour of the crank element, but this is evidence that his work isn't finished yet.

Those who suspend candidates on the basis of 'likes' reveal themselves to be cranks.

It's really very easy. Just don't like racist & crank posts. Then you won't get disciplined. I really don't have sympathy for people who are either incapable of identifying unacceptable crank stuff or deliberately choose to condone it.

The proposals for a new blasphemy law are a case in point I've no idea what you're referring to, but I'd bet good money that whatever it is, it's nothing of the sort.

Criticism of 'muslimness' to be a criminal offence. Read up on it... I'm surprised you're unaware of such an illiberal proposal
