As it happens I regularly used to see Sunak and his wife at the Northallerton Leisure centre gym . They are both extremely short ,physically and in manners too .

On this occasion, that maybe *is* all there is to it - some can overthink these things. Can't blame him for spending some time with a friendly audience.

How many were there to catch a glimpse of 80's hearthrob Sharkey? Usually the folks round here have to content themselves with bumping into Chubby Brown and Janet Street-Porter in Northallerton (not together .. unfortunately) He must be doing some round-robin campaigning, as he's out with a Labour canvassing team in Midlothian today.

The kind of comment you make when you want the odds to lengthen so you'll win more £.

It suggests that Brexit is not popular - Reform won't do well if that's the problem. Who could win? Labour or the LibDems?

If Sunak loses it would be to Labour because of our relative strength in Northallerton which is the largest town. However I think Sunak will hold the seat

Why will he hold the seat? Because it's normally a very safe Conservative seat, with several smallish or small towns including Richmond itself which are fairly comfortably-off and where the Tories have a very large habitual vote, and vast rural areas where the Tories are generally strong too. It has no areas where Labour is completely dominant but loads where the Tories still are.

I might be triangulating/pentagoning but if Labour get their vote out, a few vote tactically for them… a few Tories stay at home, and a few vote Reform over the D-Day fiasco…

If Rishi does lose, does he still go to the King to tender the Government's resignation? Or would the Tories have to send another MP?

He's still Prime Minister and leader of the governement even if seatless, so he would still go. I don't see him becoming seatless happening.

I wonder what the King would say to him though "Oh dear, here we are again".

"I have to move out of Downing Street, can I stay here for a bit until I get myself sorted, your Majesty?" Reply by Charles: "Only if you personally pay for the installation of solar panels for every roof of the palace"
