I think the Tories would hold. It's a very rural seat really. Small town North Yorkshire's still Tory. Labour didn't win Skipton and Ripon.

Looks like Sunak's pre-election "pledge" to serve a full term here as a backbencher was meant about as sincerely as most of us suspected. What's been said? I haven't seen anything.

there are strong rumours that Sunak will depart the Commons very soon after a new Tory leader is elected.

In fairness there was speculation that he’d not even stick around as leader and there was talk of IDS being appointed in the interim, but he obviously has
