Almanac profileCandidatesDaniel Callaghan (Lib Dem) Kevin Foster (Green) Tony Spence (Reform UK) And presumably Rishi Sunak (Con) Presumably, but is this officially confirmed anywhere? He's not on owainsutton's spreadsheet, which is where I got most of the info from; there's the odd other sitting Tory MP this is also true of. Maybe they are waiting to be sure that he isn't voted out as leader before the General Election?

Maybe they are waiting to be sure that he isn't voted out as leader before the General Election? I don’t think we have had confirmation of his reselection. There are dozens of Conservative MPs who have presumably been reselected but we don’t have any proof so haven’t put them on the spreadsheet yet.

He doesn't strike me as someone who'd be happy on the backbenches but what does that mean? He resigns the day after being re-elected? He resigns after calling the election? He resigns prior?

No. He's just decided to go back to the King and reverse the previous call...

No. He's just decided to go back to the King and reverse the previous call... Sunak is making Harry look like a PR genius.

She doesn't seem to know what "isn't he" means. People say that every day, maybe she should have written, is he not? What she meant is obvious to all but Hippopotamus offspring.

You have obviously misunderstood. People usually say "Statement, isn't it?" or "Somebody something, isn't he?" when they are expecting the other person to say "Yes it is", or "Yes he is". On this occasion, the expected response is "Of course he isn't, you insane ludicrous fantasist", so it's not logical for her to be using those words.

She was using a contemporary twist on a rhetorical device John.
