People say that every day, maybe she should have written, is he not? What she meant is obvious to all but Hippopotamus offspring. You have obviously misunderstood. People usually say "Statement, isn't it?" or "Somebody something, isn't he?" when they are expecting the other person to say "Yes it is", or "Yes he is". On this occasion, the expected response is "Of course he isn't, you insane ludicrous fantasist", so it's not logical for her to be using those words. It's the English language which is never used logically and is open to vast interpretation. I think you interpret it much more narrowly, which you call logically, than I do.

She was using a contemporary twist on a rhetorical device John. Presumably the contemporary twist is that it now means "I am pretending to think that you are going to agree with my ludicrous and absurd opinion (even though it's obviously nonsense), as if it might have the effect of making me look slightly less insane".

The constituency includes Catterick "the largest British Army garrison in the world, with a population of around 13,000"; I wonder if, after the D-Day Debacle, turnout among service families will be affected?

Sunak I speculate may resign today. It kinda will make sense of what's happened in the last fortnight. Boris to be given a seat? he has four hours. Apologies if anyone is angered by my speculation. Ladbrokes are offering a market...

5/1 (16% chance) he will be replaced
There's been no significant betting movement so far.

Nah, he will be hoping his public apology this morning "moves things on" - and to a degree it might. A lot of people won't forget though.

Looking at the odds, there has clearly been a few quid dropped on Labour winning here, down to 10/3.
I think you’d struggle to explain it away, there are certain things that a British PM shouldn’t ever do - and one of those is put themselves in a position where they could be seen as being disrespectful to services personnel and the fallen, especially on D-Day or Remembrance Sunday.
I suppose we’ve all come to know that politically he is thicker than a submarine door, but surely someone with half a clue would be within that inner circle that could advise him to stay for the duration - rather than come back here for an interview, at a time suggested by his office, on this day?
I’d not blame any Tory candidates for chucking in the towel on their campaigns, personally. Grab a violin and play ‘nearer my God to thee’ repeatedly.
Representing a seat with a huge military population, Farage breathing down your neck… if he wanted to push the eject button and go he could have done.
