has he considered that when he is swept back to Westiminster with a gaggle of new Workers Party MPs that he would be deposed from the leadership by a young tyro?

I have absolutely no idea what this emoji means, and what the significance of it being sideways might be. Google doesn't help.

It's the very old version of 😂 or 🤣 And you tell the kids that today and they won't believe you. That's the truth. I do love, being something of a "child of the internet" that messageboards and forums carry on the way they do, but in particular with the use of 'old school' emoticons (as they were then called). , for example, doesn't really have an emoji equivalent (🤨 maybe?)

Has the former Labour MP who stood as a Reform UK candidate in the by-election, Simon Danczuk, stood for selection as a Reform candidate here or anywhere else, out of curiosity? It is clear from the by-election result alone that Rochdale will not elect him again anytime soon.

SOPN - Con, Lab, LD, Green, Reform UK, WPB Waugh’s address is in Richmond Park while Galloway has managed to get an address in Rochdale. Not a good start for Labour. I know Waugh is a ‘local boy done good’ but he will have an uphill battle to hit this home. A real shame Tully isn’t standing again.

Yeah, in general I'm somewhat surprised at how short the candidate list is here.

Yeah, in general I'm somewhat surprised at how short the candidate list is here. Any candidate lists of four? Three?

It's a shame the Tories didn't mess up their nomination here instead of Rotherham.

Yeah, in general I'm somewhat surprised at how short the candidate list is here. Any candidate lists of four? Three? Not this time. Every constituency has at least 5 candidates.

They were sandbagged so late it could not be put right in time with a new candidate. I suppose all parties could have a complete raft of duplicate standby sets of papers , 'just in case', but I don't think any party does except in circumstances of concern or with knife-edge marginals.

Does that mean that you have heard or read specific information that the Conservative Party was “sandbagged” in Rotherham, and that that is the reason why the Conservative candidate withdrew (without being replaced by a different candidate)? If so, it may be an answer to the question which I asked in the Rotherham thread about why the Conservative candidate withdrew. Except that I need to know what “sandbagged” means?…?

I am quite tempted to show you! It has military, engineering, criminal and espionage connotations, but the wording is graphic enough to not leave one in much doubt, surely?
