This means, deliciously, he is now standing for a small part of the seat which would-be Corbynite successor Laura Pidcock lost in 2019.

Much unlike Starmer and most of the centre/centre-left faction of the PLP, the way that Akehurst behaves is often rather confrontational and unprofessional. Too much of a liability that I don't think he'll be helpful for Starmer despite being being closely aligned policy-wise.

The most Interesting part of this is whether Akehurst's selection for this safe seat (with which he has no connections AFAIK) is a political mistake that Labour may regret down the line. I think they just might. |

The most. nteresting part of this is whether Akehurst's selection for this safe seat (with which he has no connections AFAIK) is a political mistake that Labour may regret down the line. I think they just might. They are eventually going to regret loading the NE with Londoners. |

Corrupt cronyism is clearly rife in Starmer's party now. In itself that is sufficient reason not to vote Labour.
