For the record, this thread should be titled Uxbridge & South Ruislip. The Uxbridge constituency was abolished in 2010.

Now we will get to see how good Lord Ashcroft's constituency poll really is

A stain on public life - time for a clean up.
Makes things much easier for the opposition if the Lib Dems go easy here and Labour focus on Uxbridge + SR rather than Mid Beds.

Those pushing for this suspension stuff need to understand they’ve enabled this which is the start of his inevitable comeback sooner or later. His actual defeat will only come at the hands of the electorate.
With him being in the seat he is in this ultimately only helps him. An excuse to get out of a seat he would only lose.
I don’t say this gleefully. As someone who is neither a Boris fan nor of this ridiculous law. Everyone comes out of this badly.

A sudden thought: will Boris go to Beds? He should be bold and contest Rutherglen.

Labour will be delighted, but no doubt so will Sunak.

The Tories have done well in local council and GLA elections here and were well ahead even in 2022 so I don't think a Labour gain is quite the foregone conclusion that national opinion polls may suggest. The Ashcroft poll probably overestimates Tory support but maybe not by all that much. They will doubtless try to make a big issue of ULEZ expansion which is not really relevant but will distract from the Government's record and will help to motivate some of their core vote.

Trumpesque statement from the grotesque one. A disgrace to the end.

Trumpesque statement from the grotesque one. A disgrace to the end. His statement does reek of Trumpian rhetoric, just with more words than a Trump 'truth' - always the victim, never his fault...
