Yup. One of my family, who is attracted to global conspiracies as an explanation for the woes of plucky Brits, suggested that commands were issued to compliant politicians by the shadowy people she sees as being behind the World Economic Forum, and that attending was a mark of Cain. It’s as usual very irrational. The World Economic Forum is a talking shop for the rich and powerful to chew over world affairs and feel good about themselves. Some of the ideas that get discussed are fine. But the key thing here is that the Forum is very definitely public. You can’t have a good conspiracy unless there are small groups of people doing conspiratorial things behind closed doors. You certainly can’t have a public conspiracy. Surely conspiracy theorists can do better than this? No John, that just proves it is a conspiracy. As , of course, everything does.

Number ten seems a bit out of synch with the rest just for reference i'm not supporting anything to do with this, just raised it as a point of potential interest.
mainly somewhat amused that anyone would think that the party would be susceptible to this kind of entryism. guessing point 10 was to keep their 'base' happy as there was probably a lot of overlap between brexity anti-government and anti-government "lockdowns"?

And there’s an odd assertion that “legally” you can only join one party at a time. It’s nothing to do with the law.

As I said recently, that seems to be almost universal with parliamentary byelections now - that certainly wasn't always the case.

One attempt to liven up a very dull by-election:

I particularly like the chap who talks about rebelling and how Keir Starmer is shafting people.

"On a services per platform per hour basis, Cornbrook is the busiest station in the UK and one of the busiest in the world." That's a good pub quiz fact.

Been to vote! It's absolutely baltic out Turn out said to be brisk! Hardly surprising given the weather. If you’re not brisk you’ll freeze to a pillar of ice.
