Doesn't look like the election of the Presidency of the Riksdag will be dramatic after all.
a) all parties now back the reelection of Andreas Norlén as Speaker.
b) the Right bloc will abstain on the 1st Deputy Speaker vote, which means SocDem Kenneth G. Forslund will be elected.
c) Janine Alm Ericson from the Greens will run against Julia Kronlid from SD for 2nd Deputy Speaker, but Centre has said they'll vote blank (present), which means any protest votes against Kronlid from Liberal left wingers won't matter. But it'll be interesting none the less if any Liberals vote against the Right bloc compromise.
d) the Right bloc will abstain on the 3rd Deputy Speaker vote. Centre and the Left Party have each nominated a candidate, so it'll be up to the SocDem MPs whether the incumbent Kerstin Lundgren from Centre or Lotta Johnsson Fornarve from the Left Party. The only potentially competitive race, but since the Left Party got more votes than Centre I'd expect most SocDems to back Fornarve as the post usually goes to the fourth biggest party.

Okay, the candidates need a majority, and Kronlid didn't get it on the first vote with 348 MPs present, so presumably three Libs didn't back her.
Julia Kronlid 173 Janine Alm Ericson 49 Present (blank) 126

Liberal party leader Johan Pehrson says he's "100% convinced" none of their MPs voted against the party line. I guess he has to say that, but it is extremely unlikely to be true, though no way to know since it was a secret ballot.

Revote for 3rd Deputy Speaker.
In the first vote Lotta Johnsson Fornarve (Left Party) got 46 votes and Kerstin Lundgren (Centre) 37, 260 voted "present", one was invalid and Martin Ådahl (Centre) got 3 votes despite not being nominated - probably by Centre MPs who don't like Lundgren.

When will they be voting for the new prime minister? That's not known yet. Kristersson reports back to the Speaker on Wednesday and if he has a government in place it can be voted on shortly afterwards, but it'll probably take a couple of weeks longer.

Oops, misread. Adahl is a economist from Stockholm. Lundgren is an academic from Stockholm.

In the third vote the candidate who gets the most votes wins, without needing a majority so unless it's a tie there'll be a winner.

Lundgren elected with 57 votes with 52 for Lotta Johnsson Fornarve. Martin Ådahl (C) got four and Björn Söder (SD) one. Bad for SocDem/Left Party relations that most SocDems wouldn't support giving it to the Left Party, they are after all the party with the fourth most votes so the post belongs to them by tradition.

No, Ådahl is not on the rural wing. In the third vote the candidate who gets the most votes wins, without needing a majority so unless it's a tie there'll be a winner. Who’s the more left leaning of the two Centre MPs? None of them are remotely left leaning, but it's hard to be more right wing on economics than Ådahl, so I guess Lundgren by default. But it's more important that she - while elected in Stockholm - is from Bjärtrå parish in Ådalen in Västernorrbotten (= rural far north), while Ådahl is born in Stockholm in an upper middle class family with a dad who was advisor to the PM.

Basically Centre has been so dominated by Lööf that it's hard to predict who'll replace her and a lot of names have already been floated - some of them quite young and others with a local/internal or business organisation profile and internal strength but unknown nationally. Loosely dividing the party into a rural/periphery interests wing, urban progressives and economic right wingers the following have been mentioned by commentators and analysts who are either affiliated with the party or otherwise know it well. (...) Urban progressives Emma Wiesner (29), MEP, civil engineer, strong green/climate profile, from industrial city Västerås (pop. 128,000) in Central Sweden, urban progressive but more "grounded" than some of the more woke types. Moderate urban progressive. Notable that ex-youth league chairman Hanna Wagenius (33), from a tiny hamlet in Härjedalen with 50 inhabitants but with very libertarian views on social issues and immigration (often to an almost bizarre degree) and a law degree from Uppsala (Sweden's oldest university), she'd be one of the strongest candidates for the urban progressives while still being able to claim rural roots, but she's declined (not an MP, and don't feel like it). That leaves an open lane for the more hardcore socially libertarian types, but unclear if anyone will take it. Wiesner has declared her candidacy, the first to do so. She's been endorsed by Wagenius.

The Sweden Democrats' committee chairmen have been named.
Party Secretary Richard Jomshof gets the prestigious post as Chairman of the Judicial Committee, Aron Emilsson becomes Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Tobias Andersson Chairman of the Business Committee, and Magnus Persson Chairman of the Labour Market Committee.
Mattias Bäckström Johansson replaces Jomshof as Party Secretary.
Their four deputy chairmanship will be in the Defence Committee, Civil Committee, Traffic Committee and Tax Committee, but they haven't been selected yet. The Civil Committee is responsible for a mixed bag of civil law, housing, land-use planning and consumer affairs.
