There are anti-Kirchnerist Peronists and Menem groupies in there, but it's a bit of a big tent mish-mash that is vaguely linked by not liking the Kirchners and tolerating Macri. The best-known party is the very much not Peronist UCR, who have their own amusing history of splinters (and indeed were created from one). Actually, Macri must be the first democratically-elected president in a long time who wasn't a Peronist or a member of the UCR. Although that also depends on how democratic you feel Argentina was before Yrigoyen. |

Milei is a fascinatingly weird character. He's definitely got upwards trajectory at the moment as well. But yes, watching the Peronists not even make the runoff would be fabulous. That said, the joker in the pack as in years past is Sergio Massa. Does he turn on the Kirchneristas yet again and go for the presidency, yet again? |

A stable Argentina would be an enormous boon for the global economy. Imagine what it would do if we had a stable, secure supplier of commodities on that scale. With an educated population. It's crazy to think that Argentina was wealthier per capita than Austria and Italy until well into the Sixties. What a waste. |

Argentina needs a Thatcher like figure to reform the economy and (perhaps violently) crackdown on the unions and the Peronists (aka agents of incompetence). |
