Milei has cut off government stipends for bishops and other Catholic clerics... They will have to rely upon the collection plate going forward... its called "spreading the pain" lol www.clarin.com/politica/cambio-historico-iglesia-catolica-recibira-aporte-economico_0_aSw5lJld1n.htmlIts interesting in that this overthrows a payment system brought in by the last dictatorship, which ended 40 years ago. More than a few of the laws that were revoked by Milei's megadecree harked back to the dictatorships (e.g. the hotels law of 1970). What exactly was in the hotel law? One law I saw that was due to be repealed essentially gave travel agencies a monopoly over certain journeys (including all tickets to Mar del Plata!)

Defunding government support for churches - finally a Milei policy I agree with.

The basic BA single bus fare has been hiked to 76 pesos from 7, as Massa warned on billboards (using public money).
A check of the exchange rate suggests that this is equivalent to 7 pence.

When we travelled on the Moscow metro in 1985, we were told that the fare was ostensibly 5 kopeks (then 5p) but there was such a crowd that we all surged through the barriers and there was de-facto no opportunity to pay, even if we had wanted or tried to.

When I was there in November the bus fare was 3 cents (US) and the metro (Subte) at 5cts.... decisions, decisions..... Dare I say the Subte is a quantum cleaner that the London Underground.

The megadecree (the DNU) has run into heavy weather, unsurprisingly, in the courts.
However, the opposing parties find themselves in an undelectable dilemma. Its high summer in BA and January is what is called the feria judicial when all the courts close down (except for one of two judges who drew a short straw to stay for criminal matters). So there is only one judge of relevance around and despite a judicial block on the (theoretically) already implemented decree he is "dialoguing" with the government.
Meanwhile the Congress have been forced to turn up to discuss the Omnibus Law.... not happy campers...
The resistance forces' solution was that the Deputies were refusing to appoint the committees required to discuss the law (unlike the Senate under the iron rod of Victoria Villaruel who bent to the task).

Did he do it in a private capacity, or in his capacity as President?
