I did not list Sedgemore and having double checked I think Pete is quite correct- Sedgemore was an MP who defected to the LibDems immediately after ceasing to be an MP so he was never one of the 129.
edit- Marsden was onmy list of Lib Dem MPs but I have missed the fact that he had been Labour originally -indeed I had completely forgotten that fact! So if there are no other corrections Sarah Green becomes no 99 and we can bear that in mind next time an appropriate by election comes along, Not likely to be Batley & Spen though.
I
think that by your rules she becomes the
97th Liberal Democrat MP that was elected for the first time that they were elected as a Liberal Democrat - not as Liberal or for the SDP.
I may well be wrong - I normally am!
So people can check, I set out below details from a Wikipedia list of all-time Lib Dem MPs and the Lib Dems from the Wikipedia lists of those elected at each General Election since 1992 and the Wikipedia lists of by-election gains. The "tricky" ones - along with Paul Tyler are the three Liberal/SDP "retreads" at the 1997 General Election Ronnie Fearn, Mike Hancock and Richard Livsey. It is possible that you may have missed Mike Hancock as his period as an MP for a predecessor party did not overlap with a period after 1987 as a Liberal Democrat. In addition it is easy to count Mark Oaten twice - as obv. his by-election win was a hold (if you view him elected at the General Election).
Wikipedia has an all-time list of 129 Liberal Democrat MPs at
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Liberal_Democrat_MPsOf those
I think the following were

Defectors from a party other than Liberal or SDP (11)And the following are defectors - they started out in a party other than the Liberal Democrats, Liberal or SDP. In addition Bob MacClennan started out in Labour and defected to the SDP and then became a Liberal Democrat but is included above. Rather surprisingly I think he is the only defector (not from a predecessor party which doesn't count) to have subsequently been elected as a Liberal Democrat. (Paul Marsden is listed on Wikipedia as a Liberal Democrat elected in 2001, in fact he was elected as Labour in 2001, defected to the Liberal Democrats later in 2001 and "re-ratted" back to Labour in 2005 just before the General Election but didn't stand in the 2005 General Election.)

Lib Dems elected at each General Election since 1992 and at by-elections since 1987
As a cross-check, the second way of looking at is those elected at each General Election from 1992. The total of the number of MPs in each category for each year should obv. equal the number of Lib Dems elected that year - and as far as I can see it does!
