Can't read them without registering, which is a shame. Try pressing unsubscribe, it took me past the registration process straight to the Previews. Tried that. Didn't work I'm afraid.

Try pressing unsubscribe, it took me past the registration process straight to the Previews. That certainly doesn't work for me. It might just have something to do with what seems to be the standard New Statesman policy of allowing people to view a certain number of articles each calendar month (could be as many as 4, but I think it's fewer) and then absolutely insisting on registration - I think I'd probably already got up to the relevant number for November. It doesn’t work for me now; when I press unsubscribe it just takes me to the NS homepage, which has a different web address, however copying and pasting the link did just work.

Going to be very interesting to see the results as there are lots of by-elections in marginal seats. As for seeing the previews, try viewing the page in 'reader view' mode. I find it useful as it lets you see articles on most websites which have compulsory registration. www.groovypost.com/howto/use-reader-view-desktop-browser/

The Conservative candidate is the CC for the division in which the ward sits in so that may have played a role.

The Lib Dem councillor elected last time defected to the Greens so technically it is a Con gain from Green.
