Interesting contests in three marginal constituencies during the general election campaign.

The Lib Dem candidate in Llanishen is an acquaintance of mine. We studied AS level Government and Politics together at Bridgwater College all of 16 years ago. He did better than I did, then went to university on the other side of the Severn the following year. By the time that course finished, a nice Welsh girl had given him reason to stay in Glamorgan. He was active in the Conservative Party for quite some time, as far as I was aware. Not sure when precisely he switched his allegiances to the yellow team.

Going by the previous results in that ward, it would appear he's just a paper candidate anyway. Then again, we are living in unusual political times...

I can see the bar chart, only the Lib Dems can beat Labour here.

Went online in summer 1995, not long afterwards printed out the list of selections on the recently set up Labour party page (it took a *long* time back then) Distinctly recall him being listed as our candidate in Chichester - IIRC he resigned to begin his exploration of far right grouplets later that year.

If we go back into the mists of time Plaid once won Llanishen, in the surge of the 1960s, different boundaries then, a six seat ward.

I’m automatically redirected to a New Statesman registration page, but if I click on unsubscribe it takes me to the NS site where there’s some Britain Elects content under the polling section, but, as the name suggests, it’s all connected to General Election polling. I’ve Tweeted BE asking where and when the Previews will appear, if I get a reply I’ll post details here, otherwise it may be just checking their Twitter feed as they usually Tweet the link to the Previews.

That certainly doesn't work for me.
It might just have something to do with what seems to be the standard New Statesman policy of allowing people to view a certain number of articles each calendar month (could be as many as 4, but I think it's fewer) and then absolutely insisting on registration - I think I'd probably already got up to the relevant number for November.
