No. It was certainly a feasible gain, but surprised by the margin. Andrew Teale alluded to an unpopular council decision to cancel the building of a new shopping/ leisure development.

Curborough (Lichfield) result:
LAB: 60.4% (+27.2) CON: 33.0% (-8.4) LDEM: 6.6% (+6.6)
No UKIP (-25.4) as prev.
Labour GAIN from Conservative.

Excellent result for Labour in Curborough. It isn't their best ward in the city, Chadsmead is.

What was the actual turnout in Lichfield, looks horrendous? About 14% I think. Electorate in 2017 was 3,611. Terrible turnout for a ward in a former constituency which had the third highest turnout in the country at the 1992 election, when Mid Staffs registered an 85.7% turnout.
