Things you thought you'd never see, Part 756. One of the accusations made by the regime against Chamisa was that he was conspiring with Grace Mugabe! Finally the revolution appears to be eating itself. And not before time either.

As I aim to be every time I vote in the UK, I've cast the first ballot here.

Poll added. What times are the polls open? Polling hours are set by s. 53 of the Electoral Act which says: "(1) A polling station shall be open continuously from 7.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. on a polling day: Provided that if for good cause the constituency elections officer determines that it is not possible to open a polling station at 7.00 a.m., he or she shall fix such later opening time as will enable him or her to keep the polling station open for at least twelve hours continuously on a polling day." Zimbabwe time is one hour ahead of UK time.

In the poll I’ve voted for Chamisa of the MDC Alliance. There’s not really any other choice.

If the Zimbabwe Partnership for Prosperity and the National Alliance of Patriotic and Democratic Republicans merged their candidates they could offer the electorate a Divine Blessing.

Message from vintris: I have updated my coverage on OWW with the posts made since 19/7 when the forum server went down and the forum became inaccessible. The coverage will continue on election day (tomorrow) and in the following days as the results come in.
The polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm CAT (UTC+2). Official results to be expected five days after the election day.

So, in 21% of the polling stations, the V11 result forms have not been posted. In the places they have been, Chamisa of the MDC is winnng in the first round. The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has announced no results as yet, with no rational explanation. There has been selective briefings by ZEC members to pro-government journalists that Mnangagwe has won with 53-55% of the vote. There are reports of security forces with water cannons patrolling the streets......not very cheering.

What is going on with these posts with overlayed letters? It's a software bug that causes a fake <DIV> tag. I'll just go and edit that one.

"A man has reportedly been shot dead by the army in Zimbabwe as people protested against election results giving the ruling Zanu-PF party a big parliamentary majority. A photographer from the AFP news agency said the man died at the scene in Harare after being shot in the stomach. Soldiers arrived after police got into running battles with protesters, who threw stones and burned tyres." news.sky.com/story/zimbabwes-ruling-party-zanu-pf-wins-parliamentary-election-11455999
