There are 8 by-elections during the second half of March, 5 in April and the first one for 02 May. This brings the year to date total ahead of the 2019 May elections to 30, of which 25 are in England and 2 in Scotland and 3 in Wales.

According to the Craven website, Tanya Graham, Conservative member for Upper Wharfedale on Craven District Council, has resigned. Her term of office runs to 2020.
