According to the Notice on Farnham, Castle "Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Council Offices, The Burys, Godalming, Surrey, GU7 1HR between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm, from Monday 23 April 2018 until Thursday 26 April 2018 at 4:00pm". Surely, that's not fair on anyone who wants to stand. Three days?

Bristol UA, Westbury-on-Trym Westbury-on-Trym & Henleaze to give the ward its full name Indeed. If it was just Westbury on Trym, it wouldn't have elected a Lib Dem, or anyone not wearing a blue rosette. But adding Henleaze has made it much more interesting.

I regret to report the death of Lesley Jones, sitting Labour councillor for Willesden Green ward in Brent, who was defending her seat in the elections on Thursday.
Will mean a postponed election in Willesden Green ward.

As noted in the Southwark thread, there will be a postponed poll in London Bridge and West Bermondsey ward. Toby Eckersley, a former Conservative councillor nominated there, died.

One of the longest-standing Conservative stalwarts in Southwark, and at one point the only Conservative councillor in Southwark during the lows of the John Major years. He also stood against Harriet Harman in Peckham in 1983.
May he rest in peace.
