Four Aldermanic elections are coming up in the City of London in July.
Dame Fiona Woolf is retiring as Alderman for Candlewick ward, and Lord Mountevans is retiring as Alderman for Cheap ward. The Wardmote for these elections will be on Wednesday 4 July with polling on Thursday 5 July.
Peter Hewitt is seeking re-election as Alderman for Aldgate ward, and Sir Alan Yarrow is seeking re-election for Bridge and Bridge Without ward. The Wardmote for these elections will be on Wednesday 11 July with polling on Thursday 12 July.

Whittlewood (South Northants) - the councillor disqualified for non-attendance was one of 14 (12 conservative and 2 independents) who in 2015 were "elected" unopposed. An unusually large number nowadays I would imagine, even for a fairly rural area.

I have been unable to find on the Watford Council website the statement of persons nominated for the Oxhey by-election on 21 June 2018. Nominations closed a week ago and nothing comes up even using their search engine. A candidate for the most useless Council website? Absolutely. And the Watford Lib Dem and Labour websites don't give much space to the by-election or mention their candidates, so no help from those sources. I take it that the Voter ID pilot will not be applying to this election? |

Three new vacancies left behind by female councillors:
- Anita Cherryholme has resigned as Labour councillor for Old Town ward, Barnsley council. By-election called for 12th July.
- Rachel Cooley has resigned as Labour councillor for St George division, Northamptonshire county council.
- Jane Leaper is no longer listed as Lib Dem councillor for Hartland and Bradworthy ward, Torridge council. She was elected in a by-election last June.
