And in fact, always has been since the inaugural election of Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea Council in 1964.

Probably Labour’s safest ward in K&C and one of their safest in London full stop. Nothing to see here. I'd have said Golborne is definitely Labour's safest ward in RBKC. Isn’t Dalgarno part of the old Golborne ward?

I dont understand why the Thurrock by-election in Alveley & Uplands has been called for 21st March when one third of seats on this Council (presumably including one in this ward?) are already up for election in May? Is this a poorly timed resignation which Labour or the Tories have exploited by forcing a contest 6 weeks before the local election day? www.thurrock.gov.uk/elections-and-election-results/election-dates

Well if it isn't actually the specific seat up this year then strictly speaking the six-month rule doesn't apply and a by-election can be forced - even if in practice it is often rolled up into a "dual election" in May. There is a similar byelection due in Burnley in April (ie even less of a gap)

Will almost certainly be an SNP pick-up which will give them an overall majority on the council again.

The Rosehill by-election on Burnley Borough Council has been called for 11th April, despite the round of thirds elections being held in all wards just three weeks later on May 2nd. Two electors have requested the by-election, which must then be held within the set timeframe, at an additional cost of around £5,000 to £6,000 .... just a stupid waste of money, when a double vacancy election could have been held in this 3 seat ward just three weeks later !! I wonder who the two electors are? Must have been a good chance of the seats being split in a double election.

I understand this has been called for *11th April* >>>> Lambeth LB, Thornton - Labour Councillor to take up politically restricted position I heard unofficially last week that 11 April was the likely date, but the notice of vacancy gives today's date so it must have been unofficial. No other elections in London in May so no reason to have it then.
