Participation has been rising especially in Budapest and surrounding - no good news for Orban and JOBBIK. Tamas Boros of the Policy Solutions think-tank says the high voter figures mean either "overwhelming support" for Prime Minister Viktor Orban's severe anti-migrant policies or the end of his populist, right-wing Fidesz party's omnipotence.
Boros said in a tweet: "The Hungarian political landscape will dramatically change today."Well, that's helpful.

And Budapest has several key Fidesz-MSZP marginal seats at constituency level.

I have heard it alleged that the constituency boundaries are gerrymandered. Is this true, and if so to what extent. Are we talking something resembling the American set-up (almost fractal boundaries, designed to essentially lock in a result), the French set-up (boundaries which have more to do with partisanship than communities, but made up of defined sub-units) or the English set-up (fair boundaries, but with the rules governing how they're drawn designed in the hope they'll produce a partisan effect)?

Europe Elects are now estimating that Fidesz' majority will be reduced to just 7 seats:

The picture apparently improving for Fidesz - Jobbik at 20% aren't they anti-Semites?

They have apparently moderated themselves to become a Hungarian equivalent of UKIP.

They have apparently moderated themselves to become a Hungarian equivalent of UKIP. I'd be quite sceptical of that. Once an anti-Semite always an anti-Semite. I suspect they are probably aiming to be something more like the Hungarian pre-war Arrow Cross party.

NB: Candidates who poll 0 votes have withdrawn from the constituency in question.
There are a lot of tactical withdrawals going on in Hungary in the single member constituencies. The Hungarian Greens, LMP, have made a few but some are being done in their favour by the Hungarian Socialists and Dialogue alliance (Dialogue split from LMP in 2012).

Gabor Vona has resigned as Jobbik leader. Are they doing worse than expected? Currently at ~19.65% (92% counted) JOBBIK lost a little bit (~ -1%) and performed roughly as in the OpinionPolls (newest one 20%, Median [said to be the best] 16%, another company 25%). It's perhaps more, that Vona's strategy of bridging to the Left has flopped and many/most in his party having never been too keen on this shift.
