ITV has been calling Labour candidate Steven Doughty the ' MP-elect'; there are some rumours that the second place candidate will be a surprise which I suspect implies that UKIP might get it. |

19,204 ballots verified; result due at 02:30. Treat with usual scepticism about predictions of declaration times. Electorate in 2010 was about 73,700. If it hasn't changed much that makes turnout about 26%, although someone on Twitter was quoting 24%. |
