Tony Blair in an interview in today's Guardian says he would like to be PM again if he was given the opportunity. Anyone think he'll go for a by-election in some Labour seat vacated by the PCC elections? Snigger!

Only the item about homes seems like the sort of thing that could play on a constituency level, and very little of that seems to be in Cardiff South. So I don't think that's going to be a problem for Labour, especially since Labour-supporting voters tend to be keen on housebuilding in the abstract. If the specific isn't on their doorstep, there's no reason for it to become a campaign issue of any sort.

The fact that Labour lied about it during the council elections might help a general dissatisfaction with Labour, but as I have said most of the planned building is outside the constituency.
The Ipad issue, is a non issue, though i would question the need for it to be an Ipad when there are other tablets that do the same thing for less cost.
The lord mayor thing is a throw back to Goodway's Lord Mayor for Life playing around with the role. Creating a chair of council and a Lord Mayor is just daft.
It might help again to increase disquiet about Labour but these are marginal within the election.

Shouldn't we have the list of candidates by now? I can't find it.

Not that it maters. obviously matters to him if he is renting purley to provide a local address (I presume there is a bit more to it than that , but if that were the case would he have to show the rent in his election expenses?)

No OMRLP there either? I was expecting Mark Beech would probably do it.

Having canvassed with others from surrounding Valley strongholds I can report that the Labour vote is definately holding up! The Libdems don't exist on the ground here & neither do Plaid.

That is not quite the message that I am getting, Plaid are working hard here and while I don't expect an upset I would be surprised if Plaid's vote does not do better than expected. Incidentally how do you think that the Tories are doing?

I suspect that the LibDem vote will collapse here but that Ukip & Plaid votes finish slightly up. The Tory vote will fallback but not collapse (down 8 to 10%). Their support is stubbornly clinging on but they will lose all of the ground that they have gained over recent elections.

Incidentally how do you think that the Tories are doing? Plaid only had 4.1% last time so I'm fairly sure their vote will go up
