Details of eight more by- elections, some of which rejoice in particularly delightful names, will appear here in due course, and I hope you will all scan them for the inevitable errors.

Which Del Singh's family are extremely unhappy about given his support for Labour Friends of Palestine.

I think LAB will fancy their chances.

Mash Barn sounds like some sort of command to attack me physically. I did say there were some delightful names in this set! You have to think this ward was named in your honour

Pat Strack is the former Conservative councillor for the ward (2006-2014). Lawrence Stack previously stood for Labour in Brookmeadow (parish council election 2015). It's good to see such an array of candidates in Kenilworth which has often been a two party only affair

It seems nobody wants to save this Stretton, unlike the Staffordshire one in the previous week . Maybe because all 5 candidates come from Burbage which seems a bit hard on Sketchley and Stretton. In the old days a candidate from Sketchley would have taken them all to the cleaners

I blame my advancing years.

And also (minor) boundary changes between 2008 and 2011. Marginally beneficial for Tories, marginally to the disadvantage of the Lib Dems. Nothing to influence the outcome which is near a foregone conclusion. Well, actually is a foregone conclusion.

Seriously, it is really tiring...not aimed at you Mike, you are just reporting - just a general tiredness with things.

She was a former Lib Dem councillor for the ward and I assume was the successful candidate in 2006? ( can anyone confirm that - LEAP has the candidate's name that year as Margaret Ferrer?) Incidentally, she defected from Lib Dems to UKIP via the Greens!
