Looking at the West Lancs website one is forced to assume either West Lancs are a complete shower, or they don't have any candidates? Their last item is a request for nominations! Even last Thursday the York Council website was still talking about the May 2015 General Election with nothing about June 2017. |

There are 11 10 known vacancies that will be contested after 8 June with 2 by-elections later in June and 1 already called for July whilst there are a further 8 7 not yet called.

Moray UA, Elgin City North - Independent resigned around 9 May

Regret to report the death of Waltham Forest borough councillor Nadeem Ali (William Morris ward), who was Mayor in 2013-14. He had stood unsuccessfully for the council leadership in January. He was only 34.

He was only 34. This is so sad for someone so young. This father is also a cabinet member at Waltham Forest. I can imagine will be tough for him over the next months. |

There are 33 by-elections for 34 seats on 8 June. In addition there will be 3 deferred elections following the deaths of candidates ahead of the 4 May elections.
The Oldham MB, Royton North by-election will indeed be held on 8 June contrary to earlier information from the Council
By-elections are due to the resignation of the previous councillor unless ^ indicates a death whilst ^^ indicates an invalid nomination at a previous by-election.
