That's a dismal result for Nuttall. Much better than expected after all those headlines. Great result for the Tories though.

I am amazed that someone like Barbara Fielding-Morriss, given her policies and vexatious litigant status, could get nearly half as many votes as my Green colleague. I was rather amused by the fact that the BNP was beaten by the Monster Raving Loonies, though

Conservatives splitting the Brexit vote. The suggestion is that Labour lost 'remain' voters to the Lib Dems because of Corbyn strongly backing May on Brexit.

See under normal circumstances the division of the industrial part of Cumberland works to our favour so...

Stoke-on-Trent Central keeps moving down on the UKIP target list it's ridiculous He avoided the fact that he was, apparently, leading the campaign at one point. I think he may have won it but he is frankly a bloody liability and people don't want him as their MP In an ideal scenario for UKIP his job will be to unify what remains of the party, to get it properly organised, and to get a handful of better candidates than himself elected at the next GE. He can then step back into the second row and take credit for those - hypothetical - achievements.

So apparently Labour has probably lost Copeland on rural postal votes, bloody farmers. Who drew that ridiculous rural hinterland round Whitehaven Whitehaven has an electorate of about 20,000 - of course it should still be a borough constituency like it was before 1918. Must be Tory gerrymandering eh

Wie oft hat nicht zur Weihnachtszeit, Ein Baum von dir mich hoch erfreut! O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum, Du kannst mir sehr gefallen!
Nicking the tune from a German Christmas folk song is such a great demonstration of your movement's credentials. They stole it of us, don't spoil my celebrations! I think they just got cut short anyway.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember Brighouse and Spenborough in 1960 but that had been an extreme marginal and stayed so. This is a quite monumental victory. This will go down in electoral history and it is a disaster for Labour in opposition to A Conservative Government in mid-term second term.
