Higher Croft (Blackburn) - Lab Hold Labour 435 UKIP 187 Conservative 125 Quite an interesting result in the context of UKIP making push in Labour seats that heavily voted Leave, pitching themselves as the party of the White Working Class. In this seat they push Conservatives into second but fall well short of mounting a serious challenge to Labour. I wonder if that pattern might be repeated on a larger scale. As already mentioned, its a worse result for UKIP than last year.

What I'm trying to say is that it's not a terribly encouraging result for them on that strategy - they might replace Cons as rivals to Labour, but nothing here to really worry Labour that I can see.

This pattern has been clear for a while outside the few old Labour areas such as Rotherham, Bolton and Hartlepool where they are well organised.
