The result of the parliamentary election in April:
Parties in "Coalition 2016": 57.2% (42) United Democratic Party (UDP) 37.5% (31) People's Democratic Organisation for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS) 8.9% (4) National Reconciliation Party (NRP) 6.3% (5) People’s Progressive Party (PPP) 2.5% (2) Gambia Moral Congress (GMC) 1.2% (0) National Convention Party (NCP) 0.5% (0) Gambia Party for Democracy and Progress (GPDP) 0.3% (0)
Other parties: 33.3% (10) Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC), expelled APRC member and 3rd presidential candidate Mama Kandeh's party 17.4% (5) Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC), Yahya Jammeh's party 15.9% (5)
Independents 9.6% (1)
Only four of the Coalition 2016 parties got seats. Barrow's UDP, opposition veteran Hamat Bah's NRP, first president Dawda Jawara's PPP, and the left wingers from PDOIS. UDP, NRP and PPP formed a coalition afterwards.
