Turnout at midday was 17.75%, down from 19.24% in the first round. Could be heading for the low 40s based on that, which is frankly pathetic for the power they're about to give Macron.
Low turnout seems to be expected to make Macron's landslide even bigger, but might it also give Le Pen a couple of colleagues in the assembly?

I will be gutted if NKM loses her seat. She's done for if the first round is anything to go by. Paris 2nd LREM. 41.81% LR (NKM) 18.13%

I would imagine both of the old blocs will have to withdraw and reconstitute. Macron is likely to promise much and deliver little, and the enthusiasm for centrist liberalism may well be fleeting. However, he does have the opposrtunity to do what he wants unhindered, which is fair enough.

As a French anorak put it "this is the only way we could have a grand coalition in France" and right know that is what a lot of voters want to deal with several overlapping crisis (security, ethnic tension, integration, growth/unemployment). But grand coalitions do not last forever (though they can be quite tenacious).

Turnout at 5pm is 35.33%. Projected turnout is 43%.
Turnout is best slightly less terrible in the rural South/South West. Ile de France is atrocious, Seine-Saint-Denis at just 21% by 5pm.

Some of these do look like the majority will be smaller than expected.

Apparently she was asked to go over to LREM and politely declined. NKM? Yep. In fact I saw her being asked if she'd go over to LREM on France 2 during the first round.
