Using the calculations that Matt Singh uses, Walton should end up like this:
Labour 76% (-5%), UKIP 9% (unchanged), Lib Dem 6% (+4%), Con 3% (-1%), Greens 2% (unchanged), Others 4% (+4%)

Leigh was his next carpetbag attempt I thought? But surely the Big Bootle Meff can't resist his home turf. Why not both at the same time?

Because, finsobruce, if they do occur at the same time he will not be able to stand in both simultaneously. The law only allows you to stand in one constituency at a time on a specific date.

Bootle is his home turf, not Liverpool! If Nuttall runs here he will be personally ensuring the death of his own party, remember Walton has Anfield and Goodison in its boundaries.

That's quite a recent law though, isn't it? I recall a candidate standing in all 4 Cardiff constituencies at the 2005 GE.

That is correct, Foggy. Her name was Catherine Taylor-Dawson of the Rainbow Dream Ticket Party and infamously set the record low of 1 vote in the Cardiff North constituency. It was only in 2006 that UK electoral law was changed to stop anyone standing in more than one constituency at a time.

I believe it was wrongly stated during the debate in Parliament at the time that the one vote was "presumably her own" – which was of course far from the case as it was and is only legal to vote in a single constituency at a GE, and she might well have not been registered in any of the Cardiff seats.

And will Nuttall stand (if he is still leader) and how many people will save their deposit? Surely if Nuttall stands, we're surely looking at a lost UKIP deposit. As far as scousers are concerned, lying about Hillsborough is the unforgiveable sin. Nuttall and Banks forgot the golden rule: no right winger lies about Hillsborough and gets away with it

Why aren't they permitted as pub quiz questions anymore?

Perhaps he means that he is no longer permitted, which one can understand.

Anything west of Sintellins is Scouse. But many would be regarded as plastics or wools to the true Scouser.

Perhaps he means that he is no longer permitted, which one can understand. Candidates used to be able to stand in as many constituencies as they wanted, but now it is expressly not allowed. The law was changed more than a decade ago - s. 22 of the Electoral Administration Act 2006.
