Proposed new regions by UK2070:-
I can't see any argument for going city-region based around the Peak District and North Midlands but then sticking with County Boundaries in the south. Or with Cornwall as a separate area but not Yorkshire.
There is a special place in hell for anybody who’s still supports Humberside.
I lost any respect for the supposed economic arguments for Humberside when mapping the old council I found that the Boothferry District included the Isle of Axholme with the Goole area rather than Scunthorpe despite the fact that, at the time of its creation, the transport links were:
-To Scunthorpe: Two A roads, a motorway and a railway line. -To Goole: Two minor country roads leading to a single carriageway road bridge.
It's so blatantly a 'we need a cross-county district to justify the County' it hurts.

I think there was a strong desire to "repair" the "broken" border and put it along the Trent where it belongs - but the solution to that would be to put IofA in with Doncaster, not Goole.

Also have Gedling, randomising can give some rather boring councils at times.

Have a look at what the new BCP council looks like these days: I'm impressed by the 'Unity Alliance'. Also, bonus Worthing:

Selby, a good showing for the Yorkshire Party (paging Yorkie) and a narrow Con Hold.

Labour should have a shot at being the largest party in Worthing next time. A shot yes, but remember that though there are up to five wards which should be fairly routine Labour gains, they also have a difficult defence of their by-election gain in Marine while the Conservatives should also be well placed to gain the UKIP and Independent seats. Even if Labour made all those gains and the Conservatives failed to make any, the Conservatives would still be the largest party

Shetland 2017. Changes based on 2012: SNP gain from Ind Shetland South (1) Shetland South was uncontested, which has meant some changes to the LEAP code were necessary (LEAP hadn't previously seen an uncontested STV election).

Has a party ever previously won a seat in a council area in which it received no votes?
