We're talking about a 72-year-old man here, who expected by now to be either safely in post or else quietly retired. He did not think he'd still have to be in campaign mode into the cold Austrian late autumn. It is only natural if he seems worn out.

I'm sure this demo will be nice and tasteful and will go down well with undecided voters.

Vienna will host a "Fuck Hofer!" rally the day before the election: Splendid news. Should be a significant help to his vote.

Journalist: " Do You think, that FPÖ will copy Trump?" Politologist: " Very funny! If so, than Trump has copied FPÖ, which is used to attract the WorkingClass with xenophobia for already 24 years."

Let us not be sure, that the Trump-victory will have helped Hofer, perhaps it's the contrary:

Contrary to the last debate v.d.Bellen appeared this time as relaxed, whereas Hofer was quite upset, the permanent attacks in the left media might have cost him nerves. Several times Hofer revealed, that his opponent had had very different opinions once ("You are lying") and quoted - for the first time - an exPolicePresident (from SPÖ), suspecting in a book, that v.d.Bellen had been spying for the East. Don't know, whether that will have had an impact on the audience.

What time the results tomorrow? It's usually quite early GMT for Austrian elections. I think in some states polls close as early as 4pm our time.

The last ones (Vienna and other big towns) close at 16GMT/17MET, when ~40% has been counted. Official results are released under www.wahl16.bmi.gv.at. Note: This time the HomeMinistry won't send data to the media before all precincts are closed, so SORA will present first estimates on public television (www.orf.at) at ~16.10GMT.

I haven't found any polls in the final 2 weeks. OGM didn't publish their's (v.d.Bellen at 51%, but they also didn't weight it).
I personally remain - as in June - at 52% for v.d.Bellen, but the TrumpVictory makes this turn more difficult to predict. (And i assume, that the initial date in October would have resulted in ~52% for Hofer!)

Vienna will host a "Fuck Hofer!" rally the day before the election: That demonstration was a failure for the organisators (and thus also Hofer): Less than 100, guarded by more than 100 policemen. More spectacular was Mr.Farage, who stated on FoxNews, that a president Hofer would hold immediately a referendum on Öxit. FPÖ denied.

It should perhaps be pointed out that said organisers were the Austrian affiliate of the SWP with a similar reputation (if so far sans Comrade Delta).
On a different note, Hofer accused Van der Bellen of being a paid-up Stasi agent in the last debate on Thursday. Classy.

No and it's a proper throwback too but I suppose it still occasionally comes up on the Austrian right. For the record a group of FPÖ MPs asked a parliamentary question in 2001 which forced the then government (the noted far-left Haider-Schüssel coalition) to conduct an investigation, it cleared him of all suspicion.

High turnout reported for Vienna (good news for v.d.Bellen), especially in proletarian Donaustadt (good news for Hofer).
