Health and personal reasons. We have absolutely no chance of holding there. The contest for most honest post on a by election thread 2015 is already over. Our Education system is in good hands. First preferences in 2012 were: SNP 37.6%; Lab 35.6%; Grn 9.0%; LD 7.3%; Con 7.2%; TUSC 2.4%; Glasgow 1st 1.0% If Labour had fielded a second candidate, we may not have taken the seat in the first place.

Wisbech South is currently independent-held - elected as UKIP, but he got the whip taken away very shortly after election when it turned out he was facing trial for a fraudulent benefits claim.

HOw big an issue is the incinerator in this ward? Any chance the indy could do well?[/quote] Hi Tony. That is the big question. I'm not sure how big an issue it is in Wallington South and if this by-election was in Beddington North, Wandle Valley or even Wallington North a candidate on a Stop the Incinerator ticket may have done well. Saying that, while out canvassing it has come up a couple of times on the doorstep. Right now I have no idea how the independent will do. I have received a glossy leaflet from them, it's far too wordy. It should probably be added that other candidates standing have been active in the Incinerator campaign. There is plenty more I could say on this, but right now on this forum is not the best place for it. I may say a little bit more at a later date.
