Deferred election in Wyre Forest DC, Areley Kings and Riverside following death of Nigel Thomas, Independent Health and Community Concern candidate. This is a 3 member ward.

Deferred election in South Kesteven, Market and West Deeping ward, due to the death of Cllr Reg Howard (Ind). It will be held on June 25th.
The Wyre Forest DC, Areley Kings and Riverside deferred by-election will be held on June 9.

Mick Longhurst , Lib Dem councillor and candidate for Holmwood ward on Mole Valley DC has sadly died . The election on May 7th will be postponed .

Not a principal authority, but a cancelled election in a marginal Parliamentary seat (Watford):
Sad to report that John Sedlacek, one of the five Labour candidates in Abbots Langley and Bedmond ward, Abbots Langley Parish Council, died last week. The new election will be held within 35 days of Thursday, 7th May 2015 (excluding days that are not used for the calculation of election timetables).

Well 80% in that parliamentary seat, anyway (remainder in St Albans). Dealing with wards split between parliamentary constituencies has been 'fun'. This also means the parish will be obliged to hold its annual meeting with only 10 councillors rather than 15. |

Not sure if it's been posted yet, but Wallington South by-election, Sutton Borough Council will be held on the 11th June. So no rest for me.

This also means the parish will be obliged to hold its annual meeting with only 10 councillors rather than 15. What would happen if the parish only had one ward, and the election was deferred? Then there would be zero councillors for the annual meeting. |

Probably just postpone the meeting, but in the case of a larger parish with staff and ongoing spending, the parent district council has the power to appoint councillors under s. 16A of the Local Government Act 1972. |
