Final poll for JP indicates that there could be less than 1% between the two blocs.

One exit poll suggests a very narrow opposition lead, another a functional tie. Social Democrats clearly the largest party, DPP not far behind Venstre.

And remember that in addition to Denmark proper, there are the four North Atlantic seats (obviously not included in the exit polls).

I wasn't aware the DPP was a sister party of the Tories: www.thelocal.dk/20150618/live-denmark-goes-to-the-polls"20.27pm Daniel Hannan, the British Conservative MEP who was in Denmark on Wednesday to help the campaign had congratulated the Danish People's Party on its result. "I'm delighted by the advance of our sister party, the Danish People's Party, as well as of the eurosceptic Liberal Alliance," he told The Local by text message. "Danes plainly remembered who wanted them to join the euro and who kept them out.""

The DPP is part of the ECR group in the European Parliament but to seriously describe it as a sister party of the Tories is a joke. If further evidence were required that Hannan is out of touch with reality, well there you go...

I'm not sure how long the Danish Conservatives will last at this rate. Another abysmal performance. 22 years ago, Schluter was the PM and had 30 MPs. Now, they could be down to 6.

Danish TV putting the DPP on 34% in Tinglev, up 20 points on the last election.

Greg Hands gets very animated if you point out that the Conservatives' sister party in Germany is not the CDU but AFD, as the latter are in the ECR group.

The Social Democrat vote has been flatlining or falling slightly in most of the seats I've seen so far. I guess it's expected they're going to do much better in Copenhagen where no results have been declared yet.

With most votes counted (though a decent percentage still out) things have turned out to be rather messy; the opposition have a clearer lead than suggested by exit polls but Venstre appear likely to finish below the DPP.
