And now another one put up having SD first, just ahead of Venstre with DPP a bit further back. Looks like it all depends who does the poll as to whether the DPP is really in with a chance of topping the poll or slightly off the pace.

The centre-right and right parties have a very heavy combined lead atm. Difficult to see how they can lose the election from here.

Danish Governments often rally substantially as the poll gets closer (and it isn't rare for them to continue to do so during the campaign) so its too early to be sure of that.

But it is looking pretty damned good for some significant policy changes at present.

I wonder if the DPP would be invited into government. The arms-length arrangements suited them and Venstre.
But then the voters for Nordic hard-right parties do like to see them in government, not as a protest.

The current travails of the 'Progress' Party in Norway must count as a powerful warning as to the advisability of that though...

Hmmm, I'm in Denmark in July. Interesting.
It wouldn't be a Danish election without a vanity party led by someone who will sink into the ether- this time it's "The Alternative" led by former Social Liberal Uffe Elbaek.

Berlingske Tidende poll for today, percentages with likely seat totals following brackets:
Left-wing parties Social Democrats 25.3 (45) Social Liberals 5.3 (9) Socialist People's Party 5.6 (10) Unity List 9.2 (16) The Alternative 2.9 (5)
Right-wing Conservatives 4.8 (8) Liberal Alliance 7.2 (13) Christian Democrats 0.4 (0) Danish Peoples' Party 18.8 (33) Venstre 20.4 (36)
These results would be dire for Venstre, the Social Liberals and Socialist People's Party.
I can't see a coherent government being formed on these numbers.

I'm friendly with a Radikale Venstre councillor who I was at university with and she'd be happy with those numbers...

25 of the last 26 polls have put the opposition ahead. Polls open at 9am Danish time.

They do, but it's proper close: most are effectively tied.

The SDs have apparently sent out 1.3 million letters referring to Lokke Rasmussen as "Denmark's coming crisis", and have denied that this is an example of negative campaigning.

They couldn't possibly have been observing events here last month, could they?

I originally thought the election was on Thursday but some comments I saw elsewhere made me think it was today which is why I was posting about the voting hours yesterday.

They couldn't possibly have been observing events here last month, could they? I'm beginning to wonder if the SNP's "progressive alliance against the Tories" schtick will come to be seen as a variant on "go back to your constituencies and prepare for government".
