There's something faintly awe-inspiring about the pointless pissing away of a seat. Though all parties do it from time to time so... Not only pointless but maybe permanent. I can see him being very hard to prise out. It does mean that the Tory candidate in May won't be Sambrook for the first time since 2007, so the result will be quite interesting. the same applies in Vesey as well and will be interesting if the glow passes on.

yes because the core is there and stable ... Both in KS and Vesey there are lessons to be learnt by all of us about local campaigning.

Given that I have been posting for about 4-5 years if you include the other place it would make me a very bizarre and longrunning sockpuppet. Its really a bit before my time on here, but don't think that The Situation's sockpuppets were Boothroyd-like in their complexity and were fairly crude and obviously pertaining to him. I don't even have similar political views. Slightly confused why you think I was Darren tbh.

If Joe is Darren I would be shocked, it would show someone with two completely different sides and Joe is not abusive at all !

Given the summary of the Richmondshire result above - is there any practical difference between Independent and "no description"??

I think there might be in some of those areas where Independents organise on the council in a very political manner. ND then detaches you a little from that

ND then detaches you a little from that Indeed; in Stoke-on-Trent we have a City Independent Group, who are the official Opposition with a Group structure. However until he recently joined the CIG we had one No Description member who didn't caucus with anyone, even in the pre-2010 days when we had about 10 different factions on the Council. We also had a totally different Independent Alliance Group up until 2011 who caucused with the Conservatives.
