It’s also related to Zemmour attacking RN nonstop.

What is Zemmour's principal objection to an electoral pact on the Right? Arguably it's about control and not wanting to be seen to be subordinate to MLP. Although from what Marion Le Pen said this morning, it sounds like the RN were happy to take anyone but Zemmour himself.

Disappointing, but in practice shouldn't effect the outcome in too many seats I should have thought

Now Reconquête has fractured, with Marion Maréchal and others breaking with Zemmour and calling for the national right to vote "coalition", which now appears dead in the water after today's events. What a wonderful mess this is all turning out to be. Not just a break, he has now formally expelled her. Which is what she wanted. But what will Zemmour's boss Bolloré do now? Macron may be fortunate with his opponents, but he seems to have the measure of them. He gave the right a chance with a surprise move, and they reacted by pressing the self-destruct button. The French left seems to be getting its act together, but it's brave man who underestimates their ability to cock things up.

An interesting point from Le Figaro.
Brittany has traditionally been rather averse to the RN (despite the Le Pens being Breton in origin). But the European election saw them take 25 per cent of the vote in Finisterre, compared to 15 in 2019.
Scope for surprise wins in unexpected locations? Or some first-round wins in the more obvious locations down in the Midi?

Well, at least 6 of them have declared that they should be prime minister today, so your suspicion might prove to be correct very quickly!

Even if they can this would surely help the right and centre

You couldn't make it up. Macron has just warned voters that instability could have a massive effect on bonds, interest rates and the markets.

What is Zemmour's principal objection to an electoral pact on the Right? That he wouldn't be leading it? This is the core factor to around 90% of disputes and bust-ups in French political life.

Looks like a rebellion is brewing for PS in Occitania.

Looks like a rebellion is brewing for PS in Occitania. Just saw that. Carole Dega is not happy. She was also on the list of people mentioned as a PM (but not one of the ones who suggested herself). For those who haven't seen it, she's said that Melenchon is not an acceptable choice for PM.

The question is wether the previous rebellious PS would get a nomination this time and if local PS can brew rebellion in a few other places... At some point, they should probably give it up already. They should vye for all incumbents (including people who ARE NOT in the PS grouping) to be supported and suggest a few constituencies to get in their region. PS got 100 more (and LFI 100 less) so there should be probably 5-15 in the region. That's plenty.
Delga was quite clearly in favor of the union.
